Golden circle

Golden circle

Iceland's Golden Circle is a classic, 190-mile (300 km) scenic loop starting from Reykjavík. It features three spectacular main attractions: Thingvellir National Park (where you can walk between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates), the Geysir Geothermal Area (home to the erupting Strokkur), and the thundering Gullfoss Waterfall
The Big Three Attractions

Thingvellir National Park: A UNESCO World Heritage site and the birthplace of Iceland's ancient parliament. It is situated in a dramatic rift valley where visitors can snorkel or scuba dive in the crystal-clear waters of the Silfra fissure. Geysir Geothermal Area: Located in the Haukadalur Valley, this area features boiling mud pits and steam vents. The star attraction is Strokkur, a highly active geyser that shoots boiling water up to 40 meters (131 feet) into the air every 5 to 10 minutes.

Gullfoss Waterfall: Meaning "Golden Waterfall," this iconic, two-tiered waterfall drops 32 meters (105 feet) into a rugged, ancient canyon.
